Although I am a clarinettist, I also enjoy playing other instruments and exploring other ways of communicating. I believe that musicians must be communicators first (hopefully with something to say!), and then we choose the medium through which we communicate...
Playing other instruments (bass clarinet, whistle, harp, saxophone, piano) has enabled me to explore other styles, roles and genres within the musical arts and to expand my own creative practice. I frequently include these instruments in my education and outreach work as well as my story-telling.
As a traditional 'teller' of stories, I bring together my passion for landscape, folklore, cultural heritage & music to entertain and educate people of all ages. Stories are not only fun, but they are perhaps more important than ever as we move into an increasingly disconnected and digital world. The intimacy, engagement and atmosphere of in-person story-telling is very special and has to be experienced. It is my belief that stories and music remain as essential to human well-being now as they were 10,000 years ago - they are in our DNA!
So if you're looking for something a little bit different to entertain your guests, whatever the occasion, get in touch for a chat.
